Your Position: Home > Vintage > 1954 VINTAGE FENDER STRATOCASTER GUITAR (no reissue!)

  • Price:$12500.00

An original, ash body, maple neck, 1954 Fender Stratocaster.

The guitar was professionally refinished prior to 1988 (we've known this guitar since then) and has aged nicely with some fine checking starting to show. The guitar is light (7+ lbs?), resonant, and sounds and plays incredible! The neck is a typically fat '54 neck, the ash body is original and shows strong grain.

The neck date is penciled TG 10-54, the body date is 8/54 in the spring cavity in red pencil. Both are original and were well preserved when refinished.

The metal hardware is all original including the bridge and saddles, springs, claw, jack, screws etc. The neck plate is original and the serial number is 10XX. The tuners are double-line Klusons and so must have been changed in the mid 60s.

The pots and switch have been changed. The switch is a 5-way and the pots are dated the 28th week of 1973.

All of the knobs and covers are repro, aged to appear to be the original bakelite. The pickguard has been on there since at least 1989 and looks great, but I don't believe it is original.

The three pickups are JM Rolph (the best!) rewinds and have been rewound to the exact specs of a 1954 Strat. They sound fantastic and to the human eye are undetectable as far as originality is concerned.

The entire guitar was refinished including the neck. The decal could be original it's hard to tell. Same with the frets, they look original. If it's a refret, it's perfect with the exact fret wire (Fender?)

Here is your chance to get a '54 Strat at an incredible price. It plays and sounds so good it could only be over 60 years old! Killer guitar for 1/6 th the price of an all original one! I know as I sold a clean one last year for $75,000!!

The guitar comes with a '54 re-issue, center-pocket, tweed case.
