SUPER RARE!!! 1972 Gibson Gold Medallion FireBird! This is # 359 of 366. Has original hard shell case with gold medallion. Plays and sounds great. It has the "MOJO" and "VIBE" that only 40yr.old Mahogany can produce. It was played by a well known musician in S.C. He played about every week. It has a natural real relic worn look. The feel of the neck is right. Also the sound thru the amp is heard on many old recordings. Like that of Johnny Winter and Eric Clapton. I believe it has had a professional fret job at one time. Most of the reverse neck Firebirds had broken or repaired head stocks. This one is fine! No breaks or repair. I have NOT seen any on Ebay. The 3 I found on other sites sold for  $4000 to $8,000. One had the bigger pick ups routed out of the body and a set neck installed.  Don't mess this chance to get a historic real player collector guitar!
I reserve the right to sell locally.

Designed based on the original 1963 Firebird V, this limited edition reissue was reportedly intended to commemorate the then upcoming 1972 Summer Olympic Games (these were the games held in Munich, known for the massacre of 11 Israeli athletes & coaches). This particular guitar is # 359 out of 366. The reverse model body is solid mahogany, and has a solid mahogany one-piece neck, also know as a "through neck". The color is known as "Sunburst". It has a bound rosewood fretboard with pearlized, trapezoid shaped inlays. Two Gibson embossed Mini-Humbucker pick-ups, Tune-O-Matic Bridge,Vibrato Tailpiece with Gibson and Lyre logos embossed (1-seymore duncan), 2 volume control knobs, 2 tone control knobs, and a 3-way selector switch. On the back of the headstock which has reverse tuning pegs, it is stamped "Made in USA".
