 Up for auction is a vintage 1950's Silvertone archtop acoustic guitar, in very good condition. This is a Chicago manufactured, Kay model N-2 archtop guitar. This 100% all original guitar is in very good cosmetic condition, with absolutely no issues whatsoever. There are no breaks or cracks, and very few minor dings. These archtop are hard to find without any cracks. Solid throughout; this sixty year old archtop guitar is clean; with only some paint chipping. The tobacco sunburst finish is in great shape. Features include the original, hinged trapeze tailpiece and adjustable floating rosewood bridge. This vintage archtop also has the sometimes hard to find original pickguard. The top, back and sides are of birch construction. The body and neck are fully bound. Very nice rosewood fretboard. Also features the original Kluson tuners. The original bone nut is in perfect condition. The brass frets and fretboard are in excellent condition. The neck is straight, the heel of which is solidly attached to the body. The neck is slender for an archtop of this size. Width of the nut is 1 5/8 inches. The lower bout measures 15 3/4 inches, the upper bout measures 11 1/2 inches. The scale length is 26 inches. String gap at the twelfth fret is 1/8 of an inch. Clearly stamped inside the body are the model and serial numbers; N-2 and L6285 6887; respectively. Clean inside and out. This guitar looks and sounds awesome. Vintage archtop sound from well aged woods. This is a very rare example of high end 1950's American guitar building.
