Your Position: Home>Vintage> Vintage 1960's RARE Kingston Teisco HOUND DOG TAYLOR electric 4 pickup Guitar
This auction is for an ULTRA RARE Hound Dog Taylor 1960's Kingston Guitar made by Teisco in beautiful original condition. According to my research...this is THE exact model that Hound Dog is pictured playing on the cover of the Natural Boogie album as well as in other photos and grainy youtube video. 4 pickups, 5 white knobs, large Fender style headstock, oval fret markers.... It was missing the tremolo bar, 2 plastic ferrules, and two knobs when i received it. I replaced all these with correct 1960's era Kingston parts along with a few various small screws, otherwise it is all original. The pickguard has shrunk a little (which is normal) but has no cracks. Neck is straight and plays well with nice action. All four pickups work, I haven't fully figured all the knobs out but they all seem to be working. It has recently been cleaned and set up with new ghs strings. It wil be shipped in a modern gig bag. Please check out photos and ask any questions.
Shipping is $30 to the lower 48 states. I ship to the USA ONLY. Please pay within 3 days.
If there is ever a problem or any questions with an item please let me know. Thanks for reading.
On May-18-12 at 11:47:36 PDT, seller added the following information:
Made in Japan. The neck plate is stamped Japan. There are numbers (401127) ink stamped under the pickguard shown in photo #10. I'm not sure if this is a date stamp or serial number.
I carefully inspected every part of this guitar and it is in 100% 1960's Kingston/Teisco factory condition.
ALL parts that I replaced are correct vintage Kingston/Teisco Japan parts including all the screws. I only replaced the few parts that were missing and screws that had stripped heads. All but the two knobs came from a 60's Kingston donor guitar. I bought the two knobs here on eBay. I restore vintage drums and guitars and I am very meticulous.
The finish, pickguard, chrome tailpiece & plate, chrome switch plate, bridge, neck, nut, string tree, tuners, truss rod cover, pickups/electrics, 3 other knobs, neck plate, and both strap buttons are all original to the best of my knowledge.
