Vintage 1961 Ampeg Reverberocket R-12-R amp--first year made! Rare 6V6 version.

I'm selling my vintage 1961 Ampeg Reverberocket R-12-R guitar amplifier. This was the first year the Reverberocket was made, and it uses 6V6 tubes instead of the more difficult to find 7591's found in the later versions. The 6V6's also make it scream! I looked for this amp for a long time, because my favorite amp ever is a 59 Jet that also uses 6V6.

The amp has been in the closet for three years (while I've been in grad school) so it could probably do with a check up from your favorite amp tech. I plugged it in and everything works well, except that the tremelo is very faint. I remember that the trem worked fine before I put it away. The reverb works, and sounds deep and lush. The amp starts to break up at about five on the volume knob.  I think this amp sounds superb, but I've recently graduated from school and I could really use the money.

It has the original foot switch, and a Jensen C12R speaker. It has nice tubes, including the original branded Ampeg, Sylvania and Philips. The cabinet has been modified by a previous owner; it has a four holes in the right side, and a rectangular hole in the right side that's been patched up with a piece of wood. It also has two holes drilled into the top. As far as I can tell it looks like this was done for cord management. The footswitch cable has also been modified to include a jack so you can unplug it, and it's been updated with a three prong electric cord. The original leather handle is broken, but included.  As far as I can tell it is otherwise original; the circuit doesn't look modified, and I've included lots of pictures.

I'm selling this amp as is, with no guarantees.  I'm an amateur guitar nerd, and I've done my best to describe the amp accurately, but I don't accept returns.  If you have any questions, please ask.
