1965 Gibson Trini Lopez

Now this is one signature guitar worth owning! The rare Gibson Trini Lopez is two of our favorite guitars in one deadly package. At it's core it's Gibson iconic "335," the guitar that conquered all genres with its revolutionary semi-hollow construction and humbucking pickups. This is Gibson's classic construction and tone woods: it has an archtop and back made from laminated maple, mated to a one piece mahogany neck. Then Gibson really went to town and made this one of coolest guitars ever to walk the earth. The diamond shaped f-holes and fret markers paired with the 6-in-line Firebird headstock are a stroke of genius.

This gem is all original too with a beautiful sounding set of "patent sticker" humbuckers. Though this guitar would be the prized piece of any collection it's no mere wall hanger, it's also super playable. This fast player also has the even rarer distinction of a having a nice 1-11/16" nut width. Game - Set - Match! The One!

Cosmetic Condition:

This guitar has been well cared for over the years and remains in very good condition. There are some small nicks and scratches throughout the piece along with some fine weather type checking. There are some paint chips that go down to the body. There are some "buckle rash" type marks on the back. The guitar still reads as bright red unlike a lot of guitars from this era which fade out. The edge of the wooden badge on the tailpiece has had a piece crack off. One of the tips of the diamond fret markers at the 17th fret is missing.

Repairs & Mods:

All original with no cracks, breaks or repairs.

Feel & Playability:

A keeper all the way. The neck has the nice 1-11/16" nut width (or just a hair under to be totally accurate) and a great medium 60's neck profile. The original frets still have good height to them and the guitar plays like a dream with very easy playing low action. Nice and comfortable at only 8.0 lbs.
