Up for bid is the Marshall SUPER BASS 100W SERIAL NO. SB/A 9801A. Test stamped date 1/12/70 inside the chassis pix#2. This makes it a 1969 or 1970 model (most likely 1970) according to the vintage marshall guide in the web. I'm not at expert so please advise. Just serviced by my tech Dave Trouse in Cotati CA this week. Filter caps, plate resistors, tubes were replaced & upgraded orange drop coupling capacitors. Picture #3 shows the old replaced parts. Has 3 prong power cord to replaced the old 2 prong cord. Sounds and works as good as new! Amp weighs 46 pounds

History: Has not been used for the last 15 years or so according to the previous (2nd owner).

The "polarity" front switch is broken and also disabled. Per my tech this was only used as a "safety" measure because of the old 2 prong cord. Because it now has a 3 prong cord, it is no longer needed. The previous owner (2nd owner) who owned this unit since early 70 got this from the original owner. Original owner put a "mod" on the back to get more high end sound (see photo#24). I was told it was used as a guitar amp during that time. My tech disabled that mod and put it back to factory stock, that's is why there is a silver cap cover on it. You'll see it on the middle of 0 on the 100W label (photo#24)

PHYSICAL CONDITION: Not in the best outside cosmetic shape. The tolex is well torn as you can see. Chunk of wood is missing on the front panel - pix#7. The top half of the "h" letter is also missing. The trim under the marshall name is also missing. Volume knob is not original. One knob is missing the bronze colored cap. Has cosmetic blems/marks/ding & dents. Cosmetically it's in fair shape. After all this amp is 40 years old! I hope the pictures described it's physical shape.

FUNCTIONALITY: Works and sound great!
